Organized since 1998, the Festival takes place for more than a week, every two years in the summer in Bahia, on the Brazilian coast. With diverse activities divided in 08 environments, in the cultural program a mixture of musical genres and diverse artistic languages, the ideal place for lovers of electronic culture and the psychedelic and alternative arts.
20 years ago, a small New Year's party took place in the mountains of the Central Plateau of Brazil. Answering the call, a few hundred people left the four corners of the country to build together what would be the first Festival Universo Paralello.And there were three editions held in the magical environment of Chapada dos Veadeiros. There were three epic events, but incredibly challenging, both for the public, who faced the intense rainfall, characteristic of that time in the region, and for the organizers. Right after the third edition, which turned out to be the last in Chapada, Swarup decides that Bahia could be a good path. A friendlier base, a beach with warm waters and winds, an open and festive people, the birthplace of trance in Brazil. And so, like Gypsies, we dismantled the tent and hit the road.
The fourth edition of Universo Paralello was a turning point in the country's electronic music scene. It was one of those rare moments when existence conspired to make everything work out, without touch-ups or corrections. An unforgettable experience for the nearly 2,000 participants who had the privilege of being there and witnessing. Since then a lot of water has rolled and now a secret kept under lock and key can finally be revealed. After the difficulties of the 10-year edition, with the unexpected change of location and some internal adversities, we had only one certainty: we would arrive, in any case, at Universo Paralello #13. Nor that we had to go back to the initial format. It was our destiny.
The path was intense. Big hits, where everything fit with the precision of a bar, interspersed with many challenges, adversities of nature and ideological conflicts, but even so we moved on.
In this way, between mistakes and successes, putting our most total and complete energy, a 20-year experience of learning to build this space of celebration, being here at this moment, announcing the 13th edition of the festival, brings in itself a very special meaning for we.
Finally, the festival gained enough strength and respect for us to carry out the all-important issue 13, the starting point for issues 14, 15, 16... and the guest artists will be at the height, more than ever, of this great event. So, receive this invitation as the most special, the culmination of a story. And once again, with great joy we can say: Welcome to the Universe Paralello!!!
